coach mike Harris
Coach Mike has been the Owner/Director of Force Wrestling Club since its inception in 2004. He has over 25yrs of wrestling competition and coaching experience that has helped thousands of athletes achieve their goals both on and off the mats. He believes deeply that it is our privilege as coaches to be able to guide our youth and pass on knowledge to aspiring champions of our sport as one of the greatest gifts in life. He aims to instill a positive lifestyle, superior work-ethic, and sense of gratitude into all kids that he trains. Personal: Coach Mike started wrestling part-time in 6th grade. As a young kid, Coach Mike was mostly focused on football, but slid into the varsity wrestling line-up as a Freshman at Livingston High School and got destroyed, winning 3 matches and getting pinned 9x. Tasting the bitter pill of defeat and realizing he wasn't making the NFL, he made a choice to quit football after 13yrs and focus on wrestling full-time. After great guidance from his amazing coaches at Livingston (Bob Keenan) and Peak Wrestling Club (Wali Muhammed/Roman Ruderman, he made huge leaps his sophomore to junior year from 19-8 to 33-3, and then finishing his senior year 33-1. He also excelled in the classroom maintaining a 3.8GPA the entire time while training 2-3x a day. This has left a lasting impact on Coach Mike, and propelled him to pass down the knowledge and love of wrestling that was instilled in him as a teenager. He finished high school as a 2x NJ State place winner 3rd/5th, 2x Region/District Champ, and 2x freestyle state placer for Livingston, NJ. He is a Region 4 Hall of Fame inductee for NJ and went on to wrestle D1 at Rider University where he started at both 133/141and being ranked in the country his junior year before stepping away from the sport due to injuries and support his senior year. After college, Coach Mike rebuilt his body and learned to train smarter, immersing himself into learning everything he could about nutrition and better physical training for long-term health and wellness. He continued training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and International wrestling styles were he qualified for No-Gi Worlds in 2003. He stopped competitions in 2015 at 35yrs old wrestling senior level tournaments and competitions against some of the best people in the nation and world. Coach Joe Barchetto
